Muslim Praying Rug
The praying rug is given to me by the Imam of the mosque that I used to go to in Ozone Park NYC after I immigrated from Bangladesh to The United States to learn about my religion and study about the holy book, the Quran. There was a challenge in which I had to memorize some part of the Quran and present it. IIn the season and I got a praying rug as a reward for finishing the challenge. The praying rug is very important to me because it represents my religion, reminds me to pray five times a day and I also use it on our holiday, “Eid”. Eid is the biggest event in Muslim religion where a lot of men pray together and celebrate by eating halal food, it also reminds me of Medina which is a place where people go to pray and make their biggest wish to God. That place is very important to visit for people who are struggling with their life. People also visit the place just to see how it looks but it is really good to visit Medina once a life. In the future, I will still use it and keep it by my side since this is a reward from the mosque.
