On Eid-Ul-Fitr 2021, my mom gave me this rose gold plated necklace with black and white charms of a crescent moon and some stars. Those stars were made out of crystals. I wasn't sure why she gave me that necklace on Eid, but I just assumed that moons and stars were related to Ramadan/Eid somehow. I never really looked back into the necklace for a while, but then one day I was curious about what it meant so I decided to do some research and I found out that the moon on the necklace was more important than I thought. The crescent moon signifies the start and the end of the month of Ramadan and the entire month depends on the lunar calendar and the dates change every year based on the moon. This is also connected to my identity because I'm Muslim, and I celebrate Ramadan.
