Mom's Passport
My mom migrated from Mexico with her sister over 3 decades ago carrying a small bag filled with essentials like water and her passport. The journey was difficult, but when she finally got to the United States she had to adjust to an entirely new environment. She had to adjust to the weather, a different neighborhood and find her away around, she had to adjust to the new language. Thankfully she wasnt completely alone and her older sister was already here and staying with her gave my mom both comfort and strength as she began building her new life. The passport she carries is more than just a passport, it symbolizes the courage it took to leave her home and all the sacrifices she’s made and the accomplishments shes achieved and how far she has come.
