A good dessert is a requirement for my family. This tradition dates all the way back to my late great-grandmother( GG is what I used to call her), and she had a favorite saying. That saying was to "Eat dessert first because life is uncertain." Now on the surface, this is just a funny quote, but this was a motto to live by because she acknowledging that you have to savor things in life because they could end in an instant. This made sense to me because she lost her first husband at 55. My family and I carry on her legacy by living life to the fullest (and eating dessert first).
