miner helmet
My Grandpa was a coal miner in Virginia. His miner helmet was one of the few things he left behind when he died. It represents how the people of the 1930's relied on the use of natural resources such as coal and oil. The mines gained popularity and made jobs for people in Virginia. Eventually, the mining business lost popularity and the mines shut down, due to loss of workers and investors. My dad has this helmet from my grandpa and I will get it passed down to me from my dad.
