This menorah is very important to my family because it symbolizes a time of year where we celebrate the history of the Jewish people. Hanukkah commemorates the rededication during the second century B.C. of the Second Temple in Jerusalem. The menorah is an important object that people use during Hanukkah. The miracle of this holiday is that the Jewish people had oil that lasted them eight nights which was only supposed it last one. Therefore, the Jewish community lights candles for eight nights in order to remember those eight days the temple was lite.
