These dolls are from the Dominican republic. They represent the actual colored woman of the Dominican Republic and show that we are as beautiful and as precious as the white women in society. At first these dolls were made with their skin painted white because that is what people interpreted  these gorgeous dolls as. But sooner or later people noticed reality.
