This letter was written by one of my closest friends two years ago. In the letter she wrote about how we met nine years ago. I was born and raised in Taiwan; my mother decided to let me study abroad for two years when I was going into 3rd grade. When I went back to Taiwan I started 5th grade right away. People were bullying me, and I was naive I didn’t realize until one of the classmates told me. They switched the target to another of the girls in the class a week later. They told me to not talk to her, but I didn’t think of it much because, since I didn’t even know her, how can I bully her?  Fast forward to one day I saw a girl sitting in the center of the room alone; her back looked so lonely and I walked up to her and asked her if we could be friends.  She was the girl that was being bullied. Every since then we became best friends. In the letter she told me she was going to stop going to school, but I gave her a reason to go to school, and without me she wouldn't be the person she is today. Little actions we do out of kindness can change a person’s life. I take the letter out every time I want to remind myself of the kindness within me.
