I chose my dad’s Lebron James bobblehead that he got when he went to one of his games during his rookie season. My Dad grew up a Cavs fan and Lebron brought hope to his city because he was from Akron and very good at basketball. My dad got mad at Lebron for leaving for Miami because he felt like Lebron should have stayed in Cleveland and won a title with the Cavs. I remember watching the 2016 NBA finals, because my dad had hoped that the Cavs would get their revenge from the previous year’s finals when they lost to Golden State in 6 games, where the Cavs felt like they were favored but had too many injuries in that series. I remember how excited my dad was when they won that title and it meant something to my dad because he had to suffer through heartbreak his whole life and a team that he supported finally won a championship. I also remember Lebron winning Finals MVP that year. I did not know that my dad had a Lebron bobblehead until the pandemic when we were going through things and my dad found an old bobblehead from Cleveland.
