Kufia
My object is a Kufia, a cultural scarf that is worn by men in the Middle East. It represents my story because back in my country, everyone would wear it as fashion, whether it was a scarf for headwear, people would mostly wear them as scarfs though. It feels nostalgic whenever I see it around town. Whenever my grandpa would visit the United States, he would wear the Kufia (scarf) around to protect his face from harsh winds. The Kufia has a nice black and white checkered pattern with lots of smaller designs on the border. Whenever I wear it, it makes me feel connected with my family. This is because I only see them once every 4 to 6 years. Having this item gets me closer to my family without actually seeing them.
