Root of the birth of a tradition: My tradition is the New Year's Eve meal. This is a tradition of my family in Ecuador , Ambato . When we do it, it looks beautiful because the whole family gathers to share among all of us. The food I know you eat for tradition is the quimbolitos, which are made of cornmeal, butter, and other ingredients. This tradition connects with my grandmother because she was the one who created the tradition since she did it with her children, and this food is also done for the birthdays of their children and grandchildren. This tradition connects with me since it is a part of my life because of the union that is made when preparing this food and celebrating with my whole family. This celebration is important to my family because when my grandmother was a child, she did not spend time with her family. I know they were only made up of her two brothers and her mother and at this time she was sad because there were only 4 members so she wanted to have more members in her family to share and now all her children and grandchildren do it to be happy and get along good memories every year.
