Traditional red paper art for luck.
Traditional red paper art for luck.

The artifact I chose is a traditional Chinese paper cutting. It is made from a single sheet of red paper with very detailed designs of people, animals, and patterns. Paper cutting is a big part of Chinese culture and is often used as decorations for holidays and celebrations. This particular piece has been in my family for a long time. My grandparents gave it to my mom who brought it from China when she moved to a new country, and it has been passed down ever since. It is important to my family because it represents our culture and history. The artwork might tell a story or bring good luck, but to us, it is a special reminder in the house of where we come from.
