My great great grandmother and grandmother and their three children came from Kiev, Ukraine in 1916. My great great grandmother, Celia, wore a pair of earrings on the trip to America. Later, her son, Samuel, turned the earrings into a ring. The ring has been passed down and now my grandfather has it. When he took it out to show me for this project I felt like I was a part of everybody who had had the ring/earrings. I felt like a part of my great great grandmother, and I felt like a part of her son, or my great grandfather, Samuel. I feel like this ring has really let me connect with my ancestors.
