Jar of Sugar
This is a jar of sugar. The sugar represents our hard work as black people as we immigrated here due to the slave trade. During this time many blacks were forced to work the sugar in an effort to make sugar for the Europeans to sell. Also, this represents my family's history because our fore fathers from a long time ago had to go through this and make sugar without benefits. This part of my family's history is a blessing and a curse because I think that without sugar we would not have the good foods that we have today, but then that is a scar in our people's history that will stay with us forever and continuously keep getting brought up to judge us.
