The object I will be sharing is called a jade necklace and I don’t think there is another name for it. The jade necklace is used obviously as a necklace but it also serves as a protection thing. Usually, when a child is born, the parents would either be gifted one from generations or they would go out to buy one. My necklace has traveled from China to New York. I first learned about this necklace when I was around two years old. This object is important to me because my mom gave it to me and I’ve been wearing it ever since. This necklace makes me feel secure because if I didn’t have it on, it would feel odd and weird not being able to hold onto it when I reach for it.
