My family has never had a relic or object to pass down through generations. Now a father myself, I have considered what I would want to pass down to them. As a child, I have lived between studios, apartments, and at the back of my mom’s businesses. I flew back and forth between my parents, never fully unpacking and knowing I’d leave just as quickly as I arrived. So I chose something I yearned for as a child – a place to call home. This home will be a haven for my children in Virginia Beach, where they are protected and surrounded by love from their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and close family friends. I pray my children will fearlessly chase after their dreams and know that no matter where life leads them, I promise them a home they are always welcome back to.
