My object is a food way. It is Hmong Rice Cakes. It is believe to be made first by the Korean's. But there are many different types of rice cakes . I've seen in Hmong movies immigrants or refugees  have to pack rice cakes to survive from starvation and hunger .But the Hmong's were not in the immigration. They are actually refugees. Believe it or not, my grandparents (on my mom's side) actually was in the refugees or is.  My grandpa is in the military. You may  think that rice cakes are just rice and cake together but it is actually not. Here are the ingredients:coconut milk, sugar, water, tapioca starch, yeast, rice flour, and baking flour plus you can add food coloring and coconut shavings !But don't try to eat it with chicken or anything like that, because rice cakes are or has sugar in it so it is not a good mashup. The professional name for the rice cakes are actually called: Steamed  Rice Cakes. The Korean's make it on every New  Year. But Hmong people USUALLY eat it on parties, birthday parties,or holidays.  When I found out about immigration i was like I'm so lucky that I was not in the 1900s ( the immigration). Plus like when I also found out that my grandparents were refugees I was so, like sad that they were forced to immigrate there land. The taste makes me think of rice  makes me think of ASIAN'S because they eat a lot of rice, which Hmong is a type of Asian, so it actually makes me think of me and my amazing family!
