Griot and rice

By Nicholas

In Haiti there is a food called griot. It is eaten with rice. Griot is a goat dish. Some people fry it and some people don’t, and I think we all know what rice is. Griot can be eaten for dinner or lunch. People in Haiti and throughout the Haitian diaspora where Haitians live around the world including NYC and the Dominican Republic eat griot and rice.
You are probably like, “Ewww goat!” But it is part of my country and you might like it. I chose griot and rice because it's a good food and it's from Haiti. It is eaten all around Haiti all the time.
Pikliz is a sauce you put on griot. I don’t know what’s in it but I know it is really spicy. You can put it on the griot and other stuff to make it spicy. It’s a good spicy. My dad is from Haiti and I don’t know a lot about it so I guess I could ask him. How do you make griot and rice? I love eating griot but why is it eaten all around Haiti?
