This ring belonged to my great-great grandmother from Italy. She had her daughter who was my great grandmother and moved to the United States when she was very young. This was at a time when immigrants were judged for not speaking English and for being outsiders. This ring has been passed down through generations and when I look at it, it reminds me of the struggles my family went through to give her daughter and her daughter after that, a better life.
