Great Grandpa's Shadow Box
This box of my Great Grandpa Lombardi's war achievements and war accessories is very important to my family. My grandpa's family Immigrated here from Italy right before he was born. He grew up in an Italian community in New York State. He could not speak English, so they kicked him out of school when he was young. For this lack of education he was drafted in his early twenties. He was stationed in Italy because he knew the language. After he served in the war he was sent to Muskogee, Oklahoma to learn English. In this town he met my great grandma and they went on to have my nana and her siblings. He served our country and my family is proud to have an Italian-American war veteran, we miss him very much.
