My object is a medal my great grandfather got in World War 2. He got it for flying a couple of missions in Alaska. He was on my mom and grandmother's side. The medal is made of bronze and satin. 
I chose it because it's important to my mom and my grandmother. My mom got it from her mom who got it from her dad. My family's culture is that we are pretty patriotic.
A question I have is was it hard to fly those missions? I never met him, his medal is pretty cool. It was fun to dig deeper into my family's history.
