Self portrait from grand father

My grand father Robert Snook was someone whom I've never met as he passed shortly before I was born but his memory and his influence is still very much within our family. My mother speaks of him often and we have artwork and artifacts at home from our grand father. He was a veteran of WWII and we have letters and doodles of his time during the war, documenting his experience. He was very creative, working for Hallmark creating greeting cards and was an art teacher for a large portion of his life. He was a father to 11 children, including my mother. Our family is quite large and we all have different artifacts at our homes to remember him and his legacy. I believe that my family's strong regard for education stems from him. My mother instilled the value of education in us and both my sister and I are educators ourselves. The picture I included is a self portrait he painted that is in my family's home. It's something that I cherish as I never got to meet him in person and I want to take it and put it in my own home someday.
