Silverware

My great-grandmother Alice passed down many objects to my mom. One example is some of her silver serving utensils which are made of real silver.  These have been in my family for over a hundred years. When owned by Alice she used them for fancy dinners, and we still use it for fancy dinners like holidays or having friends over. We even use it for casual family dinners now. The silverware set consists of two salad forks a cheese cake server. Alice has a deeper effect on me because my family believes she is my guardian angel and watches over me. When I use this silverware, it reminds me of what I have heard of her and honors the past generations of my family. Based on this object it shows in my culture family is everything and we have many family gatherings to bring us closer. Even though me, my mom and my family might not know a specific origin or story of the silverware we know this was apart of my family for years, it is something my family treasures and an object I hope to receive one day when I am older.
