My great-great grandmother wore a beautiful gold necklace on her wedding day. then from Poland she moved to America to start her family. now all of her daughters and down have worn the necklace on their wedding day. my mother wore it on her wedding day an she is saving it for me and my sister. then me and her will save it for our daughters. this family heirloom necklace is considered attire. it is very important to me because of how my family kept the tradition going. one day my great grand daughter will wear it on her wedding day. this would be a great accomplishment. this is how I connect this object to my identity, its a part of all the women in my family. This is how I connect with my family from past generations.
