Gold Coin
This gold coin was part of a bracelet my great grandfather brought with him from Egypt. He immigrated to Israel in1957 because it became dangerous to live as a jew in Egypt because many were getting killed or being forced to convert. When leaving they were forced to leave everything of value behind, including jewelry. In order to sneak the bracelet through, my great grandfather built a fake bottom in an armoire they were taking and hid many pieces of jewelry in it. After living in Israel for many years, my Grandma got married and moved to the United States, where she became a teacher. The bracelet had around 6-8 coins on it, they are currently spread out among my family. My grandma has two coins, my mom has one, my aunt has one, and the rest are split between my relatives in Israel.
