These gold bracelets belonged to my grandmother Blanca who migrated to America from Mexico in the 50's. She was born in a small farm town in Sinaloa, Mexico and lived in poverty as a youth after the death of her mother. At 20 she married my grandfather and they made their way to America, together. She became a citizen and began to work in Alhambra public schools shortly after moving here and stayed until her passing in Oceanside, CA March 2017.
