Engagement Ring

Setting (with diamond) chosen by my mother in 1994

This was purchased in Cape Town, South Africa, where my great grandfather purchased this 'mine cut' diamond while serving as a missionary with his wife. It's over 100 years old! It was then passed down to my grandfather who had the diamond set in an engagement ring setting and proposed to his first wife with it. When they divorced, she kept the ring and had it put in a new setting. She passed it down to her daughter, my aunt Deb, when Deb graduated high school in 1969. She married Mike Hardy in 1975 and used this diamond as her wedding ring. When they divorced, Deb passed it along to my father, Jeff, who used it to propose to my mom, Kari. Once they divorced, my dad held on to the ring until I turned 18 and graduated high school. I can't wait to get the diamond put in my own setting when I get married!
