My family immigrated to the United States from Germany in the early 1900's. My great grandfather Ferdinand had brought this beer stein over with him. I had never met my great grandfather, so having this stein to connect with my heritage is very special to me. My great grandfather and his wife were both musicians, Ferdinand played the french horn and his wife Ida played the piano. Ferdinand and Ida resided in Staten Island and created a family there.
