This golden necklace was my great aunt’s, who lived in Germany. She passed it down to me. Inside there is a pretty gold watch that used to tell time, but not anymore. This object is important to me because, I only ever met my great aunt when I was a baby, (I now know that because I saw many pictures of me in her arms).and now that she is late, it is the only thing I have from/of her. I remember Dad saying to me one day, “Alina, I looked through the basement and found Tante Jutta’s gold necklace . She said to give it to you when you were old enough to wear it, and now you are.” (Tante Jutta is my great aunt.) Then he gave it to me. I put it on and the chain was so long it went to my knees but still I loved it. My family is from Germany and they immigrated here, (I hope others are as lucky as me and can go to where they are from every summer and visit family) but I always keep a part of Germany and my Aunt with me during my everyday life.
