This is my family tractor from my dad’s side of the family that has been passed down through 3 generations. The story behind this tractor is that it was used everywhere/for everything on my great-grandfathers/grandfathers' farm. The tractor was a reliable and versatile vehicle that everyone used. Over the years, it has worn down, and once my great-grandfather sold his farm, we didn’t have a use for it, so we don’t run it as often as it had previously. But it reminds my family, especially me and my dad, of the history and events this tractor has been through. It connects to my identity because this tractor follows a family name that is still going on, with me being the more recent addition. So it means a lot to me and my dad to see it and use it when we can. It tells me what it means to be an American because it was a part of a generation that had to farm to survive and feed their families. The tractor shows/teaches me the hard work that had to be done to support one another. I think it connects to the aftermath of World War II and what you needed to do to survive with the economy being like it was.
