One video I watched was by the author Juan Martinez, and his object was a felt frog that his parents gave him.

My object is the South Korean flag and I got it when I was nine. White background, black stripes, trigrams, and a red and blue swirl in a circle at the center. The white represents represent light and peace. The black stripes, each a different configuration,  represent the four major elements water, sky, earth and fire. And the red and blue are the Yin and Yang. This flag was for international day at my school and through my nine year old eyes this flag made me proud. Even if I wasn't really in my home country this flag was a reminder of my heritage, my roots. And from that day on that flag has been on the wall of my bedroom a constant reminder of who I really am.
