family tree

My grandmother's family tree is an important piece to my family because it represents each family member. I chose my family tree because it represents my family and my ancestors. It is made of glass, it is a semi circle that is heavy, the color is clear, but there are red dots to represent my family members. This object came from my dad; he got it for my grandmother a few years ago as a gift, but we keep it in our house now since she passed. It is sitting on a shelf with other important objects near the family tree. I first learned about my object when my dad brought it into our home. I thought it was very interesting and a nice piece to have. My object can teach me about my identity because it shows the time lapse of my family. This object makes me feel good about myself because it’s addressing my family, which is very important. I want to learn more about my family members whom I don’t know as well. The story of my object can teach people and me more about my family and their history. The story of my family tree can teach us about the American experience because many families may also have family trees in their homes to represent their family and ancestors. My family's story is different from other familiar stories because everyone's family is different and none are the same. This tree holds a lot of different memories.
