My great great grandfather, Ciro Aiello, and his family immigrated from a small island off the western coast of Italy, called Ventotone in 1899. This photo was taken in 1897, and my great grandfather is the young boy holding the goat. He brought with him traditions that we embrace to this day. Every Christmas, we gather to celebrate the feast of the seven fishes using recipes from years past. This photo, along with our traditional feast are reminders of my family's history and Italian roots.
