family picture
This picture was taken in Cuernavaca, Mexico of my abuela, her parents, and her siblings the last time they were all together in Mexico. Soon after this picture, my abuela's parents went to the US in search of cancer medical treatment as well as work opportunity. Later on my abuela and her siblings crossed over to join her parents in the US and began the start to their new lives. She explained to me how learning how to speak english was too complicated because "there are too many rules" (in reference to grammar rules). My abuela still lives in the US till this day and visits Mexico frequently.
