Faithful Butterfly
My faith is my foundation. My reason for fighting through hardships. My explanation of luck, miracles, and dreams come true. My faith is rooted in me like a tree of life, it is my reason why. Deciding to move across the country was not an easy decision, nor an easy opportunity to achieve. It wasn’t until a Sunday morning sermon that told me to lean into my fear and do something that is hard by putting my faith in Jesus Christ, that I felt satisfied with my decision to move 2000 miles away from my small town in North Dakota. With faith in my heart, I felt as light as a butterfly moving, fluttering, flying to Boston as a 19 year old. I was no longer surrounded by familiar faces, in fact there wasn’t one. As a butterfly changes from a small caterpillar to a big beautiful masterpiece, my life has changed from small town girl, to a big city one. I needed my faith through this migration course, to find my place in this world, to build my masterpiece. A butterfly resembles faith, transformation and change, an acceptance to new beginnings. But to me and my family it is also a beautiful reminder of how beautiful life can be, how strong love can be even when apart from family, and that your fears are your only limitation. You can not fly, unless you fall first.
