found this a around 2 years after my grandmother passed it was in her storage building i had to ask my  great uncle to understand where this came from This is my great grandfathers pamphlet from my dads side this shows how our family's identity is of opportunity and struggle this belonged to my great grandfather robert pack now not much is known about him because every relative who did know him is now dead  and what my family did have of him like pictures and records etc were lost in a house fire sometime in the 60’s my great grandfather served during ww2 and after he was discharged he  returned to my familys tobbacoo farm in the virgina area we also had plots in lawsonville to westfield north carolina he decided our family needed more opportunities so when he got out he had access to education now due to the gi bill and he started to work towards getting a education and starting his own business and start moving away from the farm unfortunately he passed just shortly after trying for this opportunity due to an incident on his farml but after this point on my great grandmother decided that the tobacco farm wasnt going to be her familys future because there was no way to save and guarantee her kids anything so she went to school to be a nurse all while tending to the farm and this allowed our family to turn into collage graduates the opportunities allowed to use from him using his opportunity as an american to pursue education led to us slowly move away from the farm and sell our land around 1996 my family sold just about 80% of our land and until 2016 will still had farm land
