For my 15th birthday, my brother's friend who I have taken care of for about 7 years made a hand made heartfelt drawing and letter of the things I like and talk about. I have always loved and talked about butterflies since I was little. So I would randomly start talking about butterflies and he paid attention to what I said and drew it for me. He took his personal time getting the butterflies just right with my favorite colors and he made them so beautiful. He also knows that the only songs I listen to are from Nicki Manji.  My favorite song is moment for life because I can relate to it. He paid attention to me listening and wrote the number from the part I started to actually listen to when I stopped listening to it. Even though it wasn’t expensive or “valuable” I love and appreciate it. He isn’t my real blood relative brother but I love him like one.   That drawing was the best gift I have gotten because it came from the heart. He wrote a thoughtful letter and put every detail into his drawings which shows that the little things matter. I learned how much a few years can turn into something wonderful without you knowing. I still have his drawing posted up on my fridge.
