Dominoes are a very popular Latin American pastime. But they are very special to me because when ever I visit my abuelo (among other family) in Florida, I play dominoes with him. In fact, we just visited a few weeks ago, and it was really special for me. For the most part, my family only vacations down to Florida to see them 1-2 times a year. So it was really nice just relaxing and playing dominoes with my family. I hadn't seen them in a year, and I really enjoy spending time with my family. Dominoes also connects to my Cuban, Puerto Rican, and Mexican roots because they play dominoes all across Latin America. It allows me to relate to other people of Latin descent, even if we're from completely different places. Dominoes really allow me to spend time with family in a fun and wholesome way, and this is why dominoes are such a Latin American staple.
