The Dominican Carnival is a very fun tradition from the Dominican Republic that is very important to my identity and culture because I grew up celebrating it every year for almost 13 years of my life. The Dominican Carnival has become the biggest celebration in the country to tell history and reflect Dominican’s mixed heritage. I really enjoy celebrating  Carnival because it’s fun dressing up and celebrating with your family and friends, something that we all share in common. In  Carnival, we also use traditional music and dances from our culture like Bachata, Merengue, and Palo since it’s a fun and cheerful celebration. My favorite thing about  Carnival is that we can see people everywhere almost everyday of February celebrating and cheering for Carnival. In Carnival we also get to see famous celebrities from the Dominican Republic celebrating with us. Carnival is really essential for my culture and identity and it’s one of my favorite celebrations.
