Dominican Faceless Dolls, or Muñecas Limés, are a traditional type of doll from the Dominican Republic. These dolls are typically faceless, as to try and encompass and represent the entirety of the Dominican women. They come in many different shapes and sizes, with multiple styles and colors for their hair and dress, to also represent the diversity of the Dominican population. They were originally made by Liliana Mera Limé in 1981. She made them faceless to help express how diverse the Dominican population was, but also because she lacked the skills to sculpt their faces.
