My grandmother and her family were able to escape the Holocaust by running away and living in many different countries. She was the second youngest child out of five and was very little when she and her family arrived to the United States. She was the first of her family to go school and receive and legitament education. This was a great feat not only because it was the first diploma but it was from a Jewish school. Something that is very important to the family. Throughout all the troubles and waves of uncertainty she was still able to keep her Jewish heritage first.
