My item is my great grandfather's deporting papers.My great grandfather was originally born in Russia and moved to England when he was a teenager because of the Russians killing the Jews. Then he went to Canada and snuck into the U.S. on a food boat.   Seven years later in 1945, my grandfather got a letter from the government saying that he was going to be deported. Months later he got a letter saying that he can stay in the U.S. My grandma said that his company helped him stay ( I’m not sure what his job was ). So, I  chose this item because this is the reason why most of my family is in America right now.
