My object isn't an actual object its a festival called crop over celebrated in Barbados, the festival starts in June and doesn't end till the first Monday in August. I've never been to crop over but since my part of my family is from Barbados i have heard lots of stories about it from my family. Crop over is important to me because it showcases our culture like the way we eat, the way we dance  and ect. I would say crop over is similar to thanksgiving because we are being thankful for no longer being slave while celebrating with food music and other things.Crop over tells us when the crops are ready to be harvested.
