Cows
My dad had to leave his home in Mexico at age fifteen and migrate into the USA for a better life. He needed to work and send money to his siblings because his parents died when he was only two years of age. One of his sisters in particular took the role of the mother of all thirteen siblings. Even though my dad came to the US at a young age he loves his home and his sisters/mother and goes every year to Mexico to visit her. Ever since I was born my dad would take me and my younger brother to Mexico and transmitted that same love for Mexico even though I was not born there.
Every summer I would look forward to our road trip to Mexico and it would take us 24 hours to get there. It seemed a short the time for us to get there because my dad would tell me stories of how was his childhood and we would talk about everything we are going to do when we arrive. My dad also has cows in Mexico which he loves. Every year he and I are waiting to go see the cows to milk them and make cheese out of the milk. It is the best cheese ever.
Now that I have my own children I want to pass the same tradition and love to my own sons. This year for the first time I took my children and they loved it. They loved to see all the animals: cows, bull, horses, pigs, and donkeys and many more. It is a different life there, time flies, the children are free there to do everything they have never experienced in the US.
