My object is a pickle ornament. It is a small green pickle with little bumps on it. It is made from ceramic. The ornament came with a special pickle jar. It states, “In old world Germany, the last decoration placed on the tree was always a pickle… carefully hidden deep in the boughs.”  the pickle jar also states that “the observant child who found it on christmas day was blessed with a year of good fortune… and a special gift.” 

Christmas is important to my family because we are christian and christmas is important because christmas is when jesus was born. German culture is important to me because my ancestors came from Germany. Christmas is  a special time for me because it is a time where everyone gives and is is a time of happiness and laughter.

This object identifies my culture because I am a christian and I worship god. This also represents me because  part of me is german. This object is important to us because this is a german tradition.
