My brother and I on Christmas Eve 2013

This is a photo of my brother and I on December 24, 2011. Every Christmas Eve since I can even remember, my mother would always let us open two gifts. One would be pajamas, and the other would be a game she picked out for the family to play. My mom and aunt would prepare the breakfast casserole we still eat every Christmas morning.
This is my favorite holiday tradition with my family. I love how we all come together to enjoy each other's company. I always get so excited when this time of year comes around.
One of my favorite games is Jenga Boom. It's a version of Jenga where if you take too long to place your piece, the stand underneath the blocks will push up causing the blocks to explode and go everywhere. Another one is Taboo, a game where you have to act out or describe a specific word on a card without saying any of the related “taboo” words on the card.
My mom created this tradition herself when I was 3 and my brother was 6. My mom started this tradition to create fun family memories. This tradition continues to this day.
My mom is now going to have me pick the games for each Christmas Eve. My mom thinks she is getting worse at picking games that everyone would enjoy, and she believes I will be better at choosing the game. This is my first year doing it. I am a little worried because most of my mom’s side of the family have different personalities and are from different generations, so everyone's humor is very different.
I will be carrying this tradition on with my future family. It is such a great way to create amazing long-lasting memories with loved ones.
