chinese vase

My artifact is from China. It is a vase. It’s nothing fancy, just a traditional Chinese vase. This vase is made of china. My nonno (Italian word for grandpa) uses it for decoration. I chose this artifact because there is a very special story behind it that my nonno told me. “Our Chinese friends, Bonnie and Hank had to swim across Pearl River to escape China, and arrive in Hong Kong. Back then, China was communist, and Hong Kong was owned by the British and not a part of China . In Hong Kong, Bonnie and Hank bought the vase and gave it to me and your oma (Dutch word for grandma) for our wedding.” That is why I chose this artifact. When I look at the vase, it reminds me of all the struggles everyone had getting to Ellis Island
