This Chicken and Noodle recipe has been in the family since the 1840s! It all started four generations with my great Grandma Mahalina (Puckett) Green, who taught her daughter Polina Hendrix and granddaughter Goldie Roberts how to make them. My great great grandma Goldie taught her granddaughter Kristy. And Kristy (my Mimi) taught her granddaughter me! Today I am the only one else living who knows how to make these noodles besides Mimi. This has been a dish that everyone loves and begs us to make every year! There is not a specific recipe that we follow, it is all by memory. Making these noodles makes me feel closer to my family. I know when the noodles are drying all day that all of our family is coming over. I have a very big family with lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins, so when we all get together it is very special. Just as special as this recipe!
