A bed made of wood.

This charpai – which literally translates to “bed,” and most people use it to relax, sit, or sleep on. It’s special to me as most people in my family always talked to me about the memories they had with it. I remember specifically when I was in Pakistan visiting family.  I would always sit and relax on it. It would always keep me comforted and something that became a vivid memory for me. This item is something that is also passed down for many generations. My mom even told me how growing up she had so many memories of it with my grandmother. If you ever go by “Little Pakistan,” which is located in Brooklyn you can see many people who have these outside of their homes when they need somewhere to relax. This item is also significant as many people can even connect with it having the same thoughts, feelings, and memories with it. The specific memories we hold makes the feeling you have with comfort and feel at home. This connects to we the people as it was something passed down from generations and what many people connect with.
