My mother received a fax cat from a close patient she worked with when she was young. She is a physical therapist assistant and works with an older generation in nursing homes and personal homes. The woman she was working with found out that she was leaving the company and wanted to give a parting gift. This cat, made out of ceramic,sat in our house in the living room. When I was younger, I would sit and admire the cat for long periods, wondering where it came from and to know the backstory of the cat I’ve seen and grew up with. Soon when I move out and pass the cat down to my future children I can tell them the stories of my mother working in that career.
